The Yellowstone Basin Inn is looking for Front Desk person whose job is to enthusiastically assist the Innkeepers with all aspects of managing a fine lodging establishment from beginning of May through the end of October. The duties encompass all front desk functions, all housekeeping and laundry duties, guest services, food service and clean up. Overseeing the cleanliness of the Inn grounds, reporting maintenance problems, breakages, supply shortages, and anything unusual – it is to be the Innkeepers “eyes.” Other duties are assigned as needed.
The Front Desk person will mostly work the day shift which is from 11 am to 4 pm, sometimes work the morning shift which is from 7 am to about mid day, and few times work the evening shift which is from about 2-4 pm to 9 pm. We provide extensive property specific training and the job responsibilities are to greet and check guests in and out, answer phones and guests’ questions, make reservations on our online RezOvation system, provide concierge service, help the housekeepers and laundry persons with their jobs when needed, and sometimes cover other staff’s days off which means working other positions within the Inn, like housekeeping, laundry, and food service.
The Front Desk person’s role, as part of a team, is to eagerly assist the Innkeepers with smoothly running an exceptionally clean Inn in cooperation with the Innkeepers and rest of the staff (usually international). Must be guest services oriented, clean and neat, self reliant, detailed oriented, as well as see the big picture, work well with housekeepers, laundry person, and breakfast server in a team atmosphere in a self-directed environment.
Starting wage is $8.80 per hour with housing/$9.80 per hour without housing (or more based on experience).
The Yellowstone Basin Inn is looking for Housekeepers whose job is to enthusiastically assist the Innkeepers with all aspects of running an exceptionally clean lodging establishment full-time from May through October. We usually have 4 – 6 positions. The duties encompass all housekeeping and laundry duties, dinning room and lobby clean up, maintaining cleanliness of the Inn grounds, reporting maintenance problems, breakages, supply shortages, and anything unusual – it is to be the Innkeepers “eyes.” Other duties are assigned as needed.
The Housekeepers work from 9 am until all the rooms are serviced and available for check in no later then 4 pm. We provide extensive property specific training and the duties are to clean guest rooms: make beds, clean bathrooms and kitchens, dusting, taking out trash and recycling, cleaning windows, vacuuming, and keeping the outdoor areas, lobby, and dinning room clean.
The Laundry person works from 10 am until all laundry is washed – generally done by 4 – 5 pm. The duties are to launder all linens and towels, iron pillow cases and small parts of the top sheets, stock the laundry so the housekeepers are able to service the rooms, and clean the bathroom and lobby area.
Since we generally hire about 4 housekeepers we alternate their work days. So within a week a housekeeper will work few days cleaning and couple of days laundry.
The housekeepers’ & laundry persons’ role, as part of a team, is to eagerly assist the Innkeepers with smoothly running an exceptionally clean Inn in cooperation with the Innkeepers and rest of the staff (usually international). The Yellowstone Basin Inn Breakfast Server’s job is to enthusiastically assist the Innkeepers with managing a fine lodging establishment from middle of May through the middle of October. The duties encompass all breakfast service and clean up, and making lunches to go. Overseeing the cleanliness of the dinning room, reporting maintenance problems, breakages, supply shortages, and anything unusual – it is to be the Innkeepers “eyes.” Other duties are assigned as needed.
The Breakfast person works from 6 am and works until breakfast is taken down at 9 am, the kitchen and dinning room have been cleaned, and breakfast has been prepared for the next morning, which is usually around 1 pm. The Breakfast person will make sure that breakfast is ready for 7 am – 9 am.
We provide extensive property specific training and the job responsibilities are to: make from scratch various baked casseroles, muffins, and side dishes; make sure all cereals, breakfast condiments, and dishes are stocked; coffee, teas, hot water, juice and water are available; all supplies are fully stocked and inventoried; and sandwiches, cookies and other things for lunches to go have been prepared for next day.
The Breakfast Server’s role, as part of a team, is to eagerly assist the Innkeepers with offering a phenomenal breakfast experience and lunches to go to our guests in cooperation with the Innkeepers and rest of the staff (usually international). Must be guest services oriented, clean and neat, self reliant, detailed oriented, as well as see the big picture, work well with front desk, housekeepers, and laundry person in a team atmosphere in a self-directed environment. Must love food, cooking, using local, sustainable and organic products, and respect where our food comes from.

For the first time this year, the Yellowstone Basin Inn will begin offering dinner to our guests. The Dinner Cook’s job is to enthusiastically assist the Innkeepers with managing a fine lodging establishment from middle of May through the middle of October. The duties will encompass all dinner service and kitchen clean up, overseeing the cleanliness of the dinning room, reporting maintenance problems, breakages, supply shortages, making sure all supplies are fully stocked and inventoried and looking out for anything unusual – it is to be the Innkeepers “eyes.” Other duties are assigned as needed.
The Dinner person will work to make sure dinner is available from 6 pm to 9 pm, and work until dinner is taken down at 9 pm, the kitchen and dinning room have been cleaned.
Since this is a new position most of the details will be worked out with the cook as we will be looking forward to someone with experience to provide great deal of input. But we will provide extensive property specific training. The job responsibilities will be to provide excellent dinner experience in our new dinning room: Montana Seasons – and with that name in mind, our philosophy is to provide our guests with experience of Montana food along with their other Montana experiences. We will use local and sustainable food as much as possible, avoiding conventionally produced food as much as possible. The Dinner Cook must love food, cooking, using local, sustainable and organic products, and respect where our food comes from.
The Dinner Cook’s role, as part of a team, is to eagerly assist the Innkeepers with offering a phenomenal dinner experience to our guests in cooperation with the Innkeepers and rest of the staff (usually international).
